Health woes 11/17/25

Update 6

After they moved me to the in patient floor last night around 10pm I told the overnight nurse (who I really didn't like at all) that the infection was getting worse and (so stinky!) To please remove the bandaid bc it was trapping in the infection and when it wasn't covered for 1.5 days it started to improve! I could not sleep on my right side or back from the pain. Woke up around 6am in agony begged for more pain meds and asked them to take off the bandaid and he said they can't to wait for the morning doctors but he did agree with me the bandaid ought to be removed! But I have to wait. So I'm waiting and I know I won't get to go home today :(

And you best believe I'm DEMANDING VRI!

Health woes 11/16/25 (part 5)

Update 5

I've been moved from the ER to the patients rooms. Funny when I moved the first thing I did was request VRI (they will get that for me).

They repacked the wound and it stunk so bad and the wound is very deep. So 50/50 chance I'll go home tmw!

Here is the funny thing, 

I turned on the TV immediately turned off the sound and put on the CC. Moments later my suite mate another patient in the same room as me was watching their TV and then put on their CC! Lol how cool!

Health woes 11/16/25 (part 4)

Update 4

The main nurse, JoJo, will be cleaning and repacking the wound tonight. This will help us catch any issues early, so by morning we’ll know how things are progressing. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly over the next 12–15 hours.

I’m ready to go home, crawl into my own bed, and have my kitty Callie Maui Wowee curled up next to me, my little cuddle bug.

Health Woes 11/16/25 (part 3)

PAH! After nap number 15? I'm not sure because I haven't slept thru the night in the last few days mostly 1 to 2 hr naps. I woke up and my pain is now a 7 than a 10. 

I think the meds are finally working! Again I really like this hospital with or without an interpreter because everyone has been so good with communicating with me. And a few know basic signs. Trust me if I felt left out etc I would request a terp or VRI.

I'm so glad I'm starting to feel better and not suffering so after almost a week of non stop and gradual intensity of pain is lessening now. I told them I don't need any pain meds right now, maybe later!

Health Woes 11/16/25 (Part 2)

Update!

They will keep me overnight and on iv antibiotics, pain meds and anti naseua (sp?) meds.

So when the Infectious doctor came by and of course he asked if I could read lips. I replied coldly no that's what the paper and pen is for and reading lips isn't like reading a book with the words clear and understandable. 

He then tells me his wife is deaf and reads lips very well! I asked oh does she sign? He says wrote no and I replied oh she's the little d not the big D. I added she's missing out on a wonderful vibrant community! He writes she does miss a lot of words and I told him if she signed she would not miss out. 

Of course we warmed up to each other and he apologized but I told him this is my job to educate hearing people on Deaf culture and ASL.

He will check on me again tmw in the am or someone from his team.

Health Woes 11/16/25

I'm not doing well the infection isn't getting better and I'm very sick. Right now they're waiting on

-infectionous doctor to visit me

-surgeon to visit me

- and a bed upstairs to move me as an in patient status. 

I'm still in the ER and all the nurses and doctors have been wonderful. They're doing their best to keep the pain down and lots of anti naseou (sp?) meds too!

It is unlikely I'll go home today.

Health Woes 11/15/25

Prayers needed, I'm in the ER for the 2nd night due to an abscess on my back that has gotten worse. a result of a sebacious cyst that l had on my back for almost 20 years. 

Last weekend it started to hurt and reeks! One knows what an infection smells like!

I went to urgent care on Tuesday after work and they did not clean the infection! They gave me antibiotics both pill and ointment. By Friday I was in agony. 

Went to the ER last night and they drained and cleaned it but it was so painful. New antibiotics ordered but I was too weak to pick it up. Thank goodness my friend picked it up for me. I tried to rest and sleep but the pain kept getting worse and worse I'm now at the ER again. This am they drew a circle around the infection and within hours it spread and the pain is so unbearable I'm crying so much. I just saw the doctor and they're keeping me overnight iv antibiotics and pain meds because I can't function! I want to kill urgent care for not taking care of this last Tuesday! They dropped the ball big time!

3rd photo is from now at 9pm and you can see the infection spread and went past my circle they drew this morning at 6am!
