Sigh...
Der mentsh trakht un got lakht! As Baba used to say in Yiddish which means "Man plans and G-d laughs"
It has not been a great night for me. I had no idea this procedure would hit me as hard as it did.
I took tynelol during the day and ibuprofen at the end of last night. To help me with the pain and allow me to sleep. It didn't.
The area right under my shoulder blade where the bottom of my left arm meets my body hurts so bad. It BURNS. Keep in mind this is an area we use a lot to everyday tasks. So when I'm using it, it hurts. And any touching or pressure makes it 10xs worse which I learned all night while trying to sleep!
The other possible contributing factor to this extreme pain level is, I am left with a new 2 inch wide scar healing with surgical glue. I have a history of reactions to adhesives and tolerate silcone better. And while surgical glue isn't an adhesive it has some shared properties that may be aggravating the incisions.
I've been awake since 5am-ish and doubt I'll sleep anytime soon. I've msg my surgeon thru the MyChart. I really really just didn't think it hurt this much. Once again I'm humbled.
