Ripple Effects!

For the past few weeks, I've been teaching a five-week online ASL course for teachers and other school professionals in a New Jersey public school district, including those who work with students with diverse learning needs. Today, I received this lovely email from one of the educators, sharing how her students are bringing ASL home and teaching their families! It's incredibly gratifying to see the ripple effect of teaching ASL. What starts in our online classroom is reaching students, families, and beyond! This is why I love what I do! ❤️

Someone Build Me A Time Machine Please!

Been 40 plus years since I last saw this movie and it was a big hit with my family! For years we joked that famous line "Red light stop, green light go, yellow light go very fast"
But this will be the first time I will see it with CC
Other family favorites was
The original Star Wars Triology (in fact I had 3 different family members take me to see Return of the Jedi! So I saw it in theaters 3xs!)
Galaxy Quest
A Christmas Story
The Wizard of Oz shown yearly on TV
The Green Mile
Planet of the Apes the original movies from the late 60s and early 70s, and there were several starring Charles C. Heston, I hated his politics but he made those movies iconic! Papa and I enjoyed those movies a lot! I really didn't enjoy the remakes!
Fried Green Tomatoes
Superman movies
9 to 5 of course Mom and Baba loved that one!
Not me but Baba, uncle and aunt and my Mom were/are fans of the Rocky Horror Show.
And of course we all loved the cult classic Clash of the Titans!
My mother was a huge fan of musicals not the ones that became popular in the 90s and 2000s... but like A White Christmas, Yankee Doodle Dandy, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers and more.  She would subcribe to TV guide and circle the shows and the old black and white movies that played on the weekend. And who can forget Kung Fu movies with the worst voice overs in history? And Kunf Fu the Legend. Sinbad voyages! I was so into mythology movies as a child.
There was a store in my home town in the 80s called Phar-Mor and we used to rent a VCR machine to watch the rented VHS tapes. Then eventually we graduated to having one of our own at home along with the 90s and Columbia House Records that you could snail mail order VHS stuff and decorations and accessories like the lava lamps!
