4/5/6 line! BYTE me MTA!

I'm so damn pissed off at the MTA and their 4/5/6 line. This is the 2nd
time in 1 month that a train ride from 125th to 23rd st took well over
an HOUR! One woman almost passed out on the train. I'm basically screwed
for todays students teaching as I'm currently at 42nd st and now there's
only ONE class left for me to attend today. I've emailed my cooperating
teacher to let her know I will be in tmw instead! I'm so annoyed!

Chocolatey Thanksgiving

See, my friend Karen came to visit, and the
three of us, Karen, Jack and I went to
Hersheys the day after Thanksgiving. We hit Hershey's Museum and to
"Chocolate World."
A lot of fun!

The visit to PA went by too fast! I wasn't
ready to return to NYC yesterday but the
wheel of time waits for no one. Am almost
to my teaching job in NJ, its rainy and
everything looks soggy!

Btw on a different note, I read on CNN
yesterday about a guy who wanted to
commit suicide, and what did he do? He de-
cides to drive head first into an 18-wheeler.
Managed to kill himself (lovely) and the truck
was engulfed in flames. That poor truck
driver barely escaped! How messed up is that?

Winter is almost here

Right now, headed to NJ to give my under-
grads their Midterm. My 1st created midterm
ever :) its kinda snowing, sleeting right now.
Makes me want to crawl back into my nice
warm bed and snuggle w/my Sweets.

My new roommate is still bitching/moaning
over the fact his TV is going into Storage.
He was on the ph last night, going on and on
about me. Really he needs to let it go. Jack
could hear everything which of course upset
him as he knew this guy is being childish.
What's funnier is that he was told by my
1st roommate that she wants MY TV back
in the Living Room bc she knows I shared it
and we were happy with the existing set-up.
Glad too, I can see now I have little to
worry about because she's not falling for
his "pity me" party. He kept telling her how
he was gonna "clean" the apt once I was gone
for Thanksgiving break. Christ, I've kept
that apt clean for so long because while
I may have clutter, its clean. My
roommate she's the opposite, little clutter
but she doesn't deep clean. He has no idea
and wants to blame me for everything. I
guess hes gonna blame me for global warming
and racism as well! Whatever, 3 months, he's
only gonna be there for 3 months!

Problem solved

Well the deal now is my 2nd roommate
will be "sacraficing" his larger than life
size TV 2 storage so that the living room
is no longer an extension of his bedroom.

1st roommate and I talked this a.m.. She
seems to understand what the problem
was and doesn't seem to mind getting rid
of the TV either as she never wanted it
to begin with. We both were fine with the
15 channels we originally had. Me I'm a
member of netflix so I'm set with or
without cable.

Feeling better today, still a small cough.
Jack and I are headed to this small Greek
diner up in the Bronxs for lunch. They
make a killer pisticio (sp?). Hope its fresh,
it not a burger will suffice.

My spirits are lifting the closer it gets
to tues nite when Jack and I head out
to PA. Its gooble time!

Suffocating a little

I basically am being cramped by my new
3rd roommate. But now after being sick for
a few days, im feeling trapped in my bed-
room. At first he was ok 1.5 week ago, but
now he's walking on my last nerve! EVERY
time he sees me he keeps asking me if I
got storage. I'm like, hello, I worked all
week. 2ndly I do not answer to him :(
My 1st roommate isn't being 2 cool either.
Basically I'm feeling a bit ganged up on &
luckily 4 me Jack's here. I feel like I have
someone rooting for me. Remember Sam
the ASSwipe roommate? How upset I
was all the time? Well I'm kinda feeling
that way now. Things have soured some.
But, being the eternal optimist & a believer,
I'm hoping in the long term this will work
itself out. Just right now being in the middle
of it, its SssuCks.

I'm so glad Thanksgiving is right around
the corner. A visit with my family is just
what I need and want. I'm so blessed to
enjoy my familys company. Plus Jack &
I are sick of my room! We haven't been
able to use the LR since you know who
moved in :-(

Not much else is new, work, work, student
"teach"...blah blah, being responsible...

I'm kinda in a whinny, bitchy mood. Glad
tmw is a new day. I get like this when
I'm sick. But rather have it now then over
the Thanksgiving break.

This was in the very last showroom , and I just loved it! I had to snap it, it was like priced at several thousands I think? Just beautiful. Strong geometric shapes, a nice shade of blue and intensity.

Liked this one, Szymanski pointed out its a blantant rip off of another well known artist. I agree, the idea is not new but still fun to look at in person. This picture doesn't do it justiced. Sorry I only had my SK2 with me

This is the location where the Canstruction event "Tin Towers" takes place in NYC. (This event takes place all over the US). NY Design Center is located 200 Lexington Ave @ 32nd st. Admission, one can of food. DO GO! You'll be glad you did. Btw, in the various showrooms I saw many room layouts. I want these beds! Don't you wish your bedroom looked this good?

Interracial couples

Today on the train on the way downtown I saw two different couples with
their kids on the train. One couple was a White guy and an Asian woman.
The other one was a White man with an African American woman. Makes me
feel like Jack and I are in good company. Both of the couples are older
than us and they looked very content. Ironically the 1st couple had
already boarded when the 2nd couple boarded the train. You could see
them exchanging looks of belonging to the same club. I wanted to tell
them I'm a "member" too! When Jack and I go out, most people are very
accepting of us. Occassionally an uptight out-of-towner whitey will give
us a "murderous" look but I say "f*ck em!"

Haven't seen my Sweets all week. Our schedules have been conflicting,
finally tonite we will spend the evening together. Can't wait, miss him
a LOT!
Its weird cuz sure we argue a lot, have our issues but when he's not
around. I crave his presence. Damn him. I wasn't looking to fall in love
so easily. I'm famous for wearing my heart on my sleeve. Luckily for me,
he craddles my heart ever so gently.

Rusty came to watch me student teach yesterday, Friday. He's feedback on
my performance was exactly what I already knew. Less MOUTHING in English
and more Student-Centered teaching. I wish he could observe me at my
Undergrad class but either way I know I must work on these 2 areas. I
was tired too yesterday, my energy was at its lowest ebb.

Then we'll head over to St. Marks to shyme (I can't spell this yiddish
word, basically to window shop) around. Baba will porbably leave the
correct spelling on my comment section ;)

My 3rd roommate moved in. Nice man, I can't understand him 75% of the
time, major accent but we make it work.

The battle with my dentist here in NYC continues. See I went in for a
cleaning on Oct 23rd and the whole visit including the x-ray took approx
15 mins! The dentist did a POOR job and I still had plague, stains on my
teeth. I contacted my deaf friend who's a hygienest and she explained
what the dentist office did was ILLEGAL and I should be refunded my
money (the exam cost me $200!) so I wrote to them explaining my
disappointment with the visit and how I wanted a refund. They replied
that I could go back for a 2nd visit but I declined and stated that if I
did not receive the refund. I would report them to both the Better
Business Burea and the NY State Dental Licensing. I'm giving them till
next Monday nite. Will let you know how it turns out!

How do I UnwINd?

Variety Puzzles "Easy, Fast'n'Fun"
by Dell Magazines which does a lot of
Wordfinds and Crossword Puzzles. These
magazines are infamous @ airports,
newstands, and the lower shelves of
magazine sections at any location that
sells food. I LOVE them. Being bored easily
makes doing these kinds of puzzles even
better because I'm up for the mental
challenge of thinking differenly. I truly
believe your brain is a muscle, the more
you use it. The better it becomes. I love
reading, doing puzzles and recently I'm
trying a new kind of drawing activity as
you can see below. I have 2 copy the
small squares onto the lower grid by their
assignment. B-2, D-8... Its kinda cool.
Back at MSSD we had to do a self-
portrait in which the art teacher who's
name escapes me as I'm tired tonite.
Nyhoo, she xeroxed photos of us, added
a grid and then we had to copy from that
onto a larger canvas and paint our portrait.
Its probably buried in the garage at Baba's?
Or it got thrown out? Dunno. But
anyways, it came out pretty good. I
learned about my features such as I have
"bedroom" eyes, heavy upper eye lids.
And the area between the nose and upper
lip is kinda long on my face. If you look
at that space in people's faces, like any-
thing else, it varies. Nyhoo, I think so far
the picture will be a moose or moooses
in a sceneic background, will take more
pics as my progress, er prowness continues...

The last picture was a beautiful sunset
that I saw on the way to Szymanski's
birthday party last Saturday. Just beautiful!
